HOPE Mentors

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with HOPE. Please complete the four steps below. Additionally, check out the “HOPE Mentor Guidelines” linked below for further instructions.

Once you complete all requirements, you will become an official HOPE Mentor. By volunteering with HOPE, you will be able to receive official UCLA Volunteer hours. This means you can use these hours for any outside requirements and if they need to be verified, UCLA can vouch for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I would like to volunteer for HOPE. Where do I begin?
A: Yayyy! Please start by completing our Volunteer Interest Form.

Q: How can I get access to the UCLA Volunteer Application form?
A: You may complete the UCLA Volunteer Application form here

Q: How can I get access to the Volunteer Assignment form?
A: Email the Project Coordinator [hope@cpo.ucla.edu] after completing the first form to gain access to the Volunteer Assignment form.

Q: Where can I sign up for a HOPE Volunteer & Youth Safety Training?
A: You may sign-up for Volunteer training here and Youth Safety Training here.

Q: How can I schedule a TB Test?
A: Schedule an appointment with the ASHE Center. If you have UCSHIP, it will cover the fees. If not, contact Angela (adecenzo@cpo.ucla.edu) before your appointment to help you cover the costs.

Q: How can I schedule a Fingerprinting/Live Scan appointment with UCPD?
A: Schedule an appointment using their online booking system.

Q: Do I need to pay for the Fingerprinting/Live Scan?
A: No. Submit a request to obtain an issued check from CPO to cover the fee for your appointment. You will also receive a LiveScan Request Form which is needed for your appointment.

Q: The Fingerprinting/Live Scan asks “If cleared, notify the Project Coordinator”. Do I select yes or no?
A: You can select yes and enter HOPE’s email [hope@cpo.ucla.edu]. If you select no, it’s also ok. Just make sure to inform the HOPE Project Coordinator when you will be completing the live scan so they can add it to the tracking sheet.

Q: If I've already completed the volunteer requirements previously, do I need to complete all the requirements again?
A: You will still need to complete the DocuSign forms (UCLA Volunteer Application and Volunteer Assignment) and Volunteer training every year, but you do not need to repeat your TB test (unless it has expired) or your LiveScan (which remains valid for your time at UCLA).
